Hello! It's Thursday again, which means, its time for my 365 Cards post. If you've already visited the 365 Cards site today, then you know what the "Announcement" is! Today is my last post for 365 Cards. I've decided to step down from the design team. I've been with Pam and this DT since it started back in March 2009 and it's been a great ride. I've been able to "meet" so many people through 365 Cards and have gotten so much inspiration from the talented ladies that play along each week. But...life has gotten a little too busy over the past 6 months or so and I just need a little time to focus on other projects. I'll still be updating my blog and will still be making cards. However, I may expand the projects I share and not just limit this to cards only. I think I need a break from making cards for a little bit. I hope you still stop by for a visit from time to time!
Before I get to today's challenge, I want to take the opportunity to thank Pam for letting be a part of such a great team. She's an inspiration to so many card makers and I'm constantly amazed at how she stays on top of all the daily challenges! And to the rest of the design team - it's been a pleasure working with you guys and I'll be stopping by for a visit from time to time!
Now...onto today's challenge! As you know, Pam has created sketches for us to play with all week. Here's the sketch for today's challenge:
And here's my card:
This is a {belated} birthday card for one of my friends. Her birthday was last weekend, but I was originally thinking I'd get to see her when I'm in town next weekend, so my plan was to give her a card and gift in person. Unfortunately, things are a little crazy for her that weekend, so we're not going to be able to hang out. It didn't quite translate in my mind that I would now, need to SEND her the card and gift until earlier this week. Oops!
I made this card as a pocket card and included a gift card inside:
The main image where I stacked various birthday sentiments to form a birthday cake shape wasn't my idea. These stamps are one of the sets PTI just released this month and one of PTI's design team members did a similar image. I can't for the life of me remember which one, though! I tried to do a quick search through some of their blogs to find it, but no luck, so if anyone knows, please let me know and I'll update this to give proper credit. The rest of the card is a mixture of PTI and Stampin' Up! The green and yellow cardstocks are 2 of the new SU! colors this year - Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz. Love them! The skinny ribbon is also a new SU! addition this year and I'm loving the white border along the edge.
Well, that's it for me today. I'm looking forward to a rather low-key weekend. No big plans, we're just going to be playing it by ear! Enjoy the rest of the week and have a great weekend!
